SunLink Pro system installed on a roof

SunLink Pro

Modular by design

Flexible by design. Simpler to connect.

SunLink Pro uses narrow, modular panels that are easier to handle and fit around roof obstacles, changing roof angles, and limited spaces. Built-in twist-together connections eliminate separate clamp assemblies and coupling hoses, simplifying assembly across complex layouts.

Ideal for
  • Tile roofs and complex rooflines
  • Limited or irregular roof space
  • High-wind or demanding climates
  • Large or multi-section layouts

Step 2 · Size your system

Estimate your system size.

Enter your pool dimensions and desired swim season. We’ll recommend a starting collector area and carry it to the kit page, where you can choose the panel length that fits your roof.

Sized at 50, 70, or 85% of your pool’s surface area — you can always add a panel or two later. See our sizing guide →

Estimated panel area —

We’ll carry this recommendation to the kit page, where you can choose the panel length that fits your roof and add any plumbing options your installation needs.

This is a starting estimate. Climate, sun exposure, shade, roof orientation, and installation layout can affect final sizing. Our team can confirm your system at no cost.
How system sizing works

Surface area first: measure the water at its longest and widest points; round pools use the diameter.

Then your season: the longer you want to swim, the more of that area you match with panels — about half for summer only, around 70% for spring and fall, and 85% or more for the longest season your climate allows.

Roof and sun: shade, a north-facing roof, or coastal wind can call for a larger system. Sizing help is free.

Kit contents

What comes with your kit

Each kit includes your selected panels and the panel, connection, and drain-down components for a single collector row. Kits are a starting point: every installation needs some additional materials depending on your layout, piping, and roof type. Two add-ons are sold separately — a valve kit, which most first-time installations need, and an installation bundle with the roof fasteners and sealant for a shingle or tile roof.

Included
Solar panelsYour count and length

The panels you choose on the kit page, in the row length your roof or rack allows.

Panel hardwareOne set per panel

Secures each panel in the row and connects it to the next. Roof fasteners are separate.

Row connection kitOne per system

Connects the collector row to your pool’s supply and return plumbing.

Drain-down componentsOne per system

Includes the vacuum relief valve and fittings that allow the array to drain for proper winterization.

Available separately
Valve kit for first-time installationsAdd on the kit page

Connects the solar-heating system at your pump and filter. Most first-time installations need one; replacement systems may already have compatible valves.

Keep the heat GeoBubble
Keep more of the heat your panels produce.

Your panels make the heat; a GeoBubble cover helps keep it. Solar panels warm your pool during the day. A GeoBubble cover helps prevent that warmth — and water — from escaping at the surface, especially overnight. Pair the two for a warmer pool, less evaporation, and a longer swim season.

Before You Buy

You've got questions. We've got answers.

How many solar panels do I need to heat my pool?
Enough collector area to match 50–100% of your pool’s surface area: about half for summer-only swimming, around 70% for spring and fall, and 85% or more for the longest season your climate allows. A 15′×30′ pool sized for spring-to-fall swimming needs about 380 sq ft of panels. Most people start in the middle and add a panel or two later if they want more heat. Use the sizer in Step 2, or let us size it for free.
How much longer will I be able to swim?
Solar heating can extend your swim season, but the added time depends on your climate, system size, sun exposure, and use of a pool cover.
What does the kit price include, and what changes it?
The price shown on the kit page covers the panels you select and the panel, connection, and drain-down components for one collector row. Three things change it: which panel you choose, how many panels your pool needs, and any additional installation components — a valve kit for most first-time installations, and extra hardware for layouts with more than one row. Flexible payment options through Affirm are available to qualified customers.
Which solar pool heater system is right for me?
The one built for your roof and climate. Tile roof or hard freezes: SunLink Pro or SwimJoy. Limited roof space: NanoEdge. Easier panel connections: SunLink Pro. Asphalt roof, mild climate, proven value: SwimEasy. Select your situation in Step 1.
Can I install a solar pool heater myself?
Yes. Every kit ships with the panel and connection hardware and a step-by-step installation guide, and our specialists are a phone call away. Roof fasteners and sealant aren’t in the kit; the installation bundle has them for a shingle or tile roof. Rather not climb the roof? Find an installer in our network.
Will it work with my existing pool pump?
In most cases, yes — the system runs on the circulation pump you already have. If your panels will sit unusually high or far from the pool, ask us before ordering and we’ll confirm the flow.
Does solar pool heating work in cold climates?
Yes, for the part of the year temperatures stay above freezing. Every system must be properly winterized — drained and isolated — before freezing conditions.
Can I put solar pool panels on a tile roof?
SwimJoy and SunLink Pro are well suited to tile, with minimal roof penetrations. SwimEasy is not recommended on tile. NanoEdge uses an adhesive mount — ask us about your roof first.
Can I heat an above-ground pool with one of these kits?
Yes. Any of the four systems will heat an above-ground pool. Set the panels on a ground rack or another sunny, sloped surface near the pool — a shed roof, a pergola, a simple frame — and connect them to your filter hose with an above-ground hose adapter. Size it the same way: match 50–100% of your pool’s surface area, and choose Round in Step 2 for a round pool. Running a small filter pump? Ask us before ordering and we’ll confirm the flow.
What’s included in a DIY kit?
The panels you select, panel hardware for each one, a row connection kit for your supply and return plumbing, and drain-down components for winterizing. A valve kit for your pump and filter is an add-on; most first-time installations need one. Roof fasteners and sealant aren’t included; the installation bundle covers a shingle or tile roof. Metal, flat, and other roof types mount differently — ask us and we’ll confirm what yours needs.
Do these work on a metal roof?
Yes — any of the four systems can be installed on a metal roof. SunLink Pro and SwimJoy are the easiest, since neither needs wind strapping. Metal roofs mount differently than shingle or tile, and the fasteners and sealant depend on the kind of metal roof you have, so the installation bundle doesn’t cover them. Ask us before ordering and we’ll confirm exactly what your roof needs.
What does it cost to run?
The panels heat with sunlight, so there is no fuel to buy and no heater to run. Your running cost is the electricity your pool pump uses while it circulates water through the panels. If the pump already runs during daylight hours, solar adds little to that.
What if I’m not sure what to order?
