SELECTIVE TRANSMISSION
The bubble layer of the EnergyGuard™ material uses a midnight blue pigment which gives the material its selective transmission properties. The dual-purpose summer and winter pool cover material works as a selective filter absorbing the visible wavelengths responsible for photosynthesis. This absorbed energy is passed to the pool through conduction, while the transmission properties of the bubble layer allow for Infrared radiation (IR) to pass through the material and be directly absorbed by the water.

I’ve only had the cover for a few weeks. It’s very sturdy and heavier than any other cover I've had. I did run into an issue with some of the bubbles. They were very quick to respond and took care of the issue to my satisfaction. Great customer service.
We have a 17' Hydropool Self-Cleaning Swim Spa. After much consideration, we moved from an End2End Rolling cover to the Solar Pool Energy Bubble cover. 1-) the E2E, while providing good coverage for the entire spa, it trapped moisture causing the control panel to short out (2 in 4 years @ $2K a pop) and 2-) condensation collected in the cover, which just seemed unhealthy when it drained back into the spa. Our 2 concerns about the Energy Bubble, was 1-) if the cover would jam or causing the self-cleaning mechanism of this swim spa to malfunction: which as seen in the 2 attached photos, by securing both ends of the cover, has not been an issue, and 2-) how to manage the constant sun exposure of the rubber neck pads and spa walls...which we are still working on. So far we love the Energy Bubble cover, it has reduced our energy bill to keep the water at a perfect temprature and alot easier to manage than the bulky E2E cover. We are very happy and recommend the Energy Bubble to other swim spa owners.
This is the strongest and most heat producing solar pool blanket I’ve ever had. Needed that in my retirement!
There was enough extra over the dimension I purchased to have an extra strip to go under my diving board and leave the reel up against the end of the board for convenience. Don’t feel like I might tear it when I have to pull it out and put it on by myself. I can even do it from in the water in the middle of the deep end by myself!
Seems to be very well made and hoping that it will last many years. Much sturdier than the typical "bubble wrap" solar covers. Like that a sun shade is provided to inhibit UV damage.
Highest quality pool cover I have ever purchased. Looks like it should last a lot longer than the other products, which feel much flimsier than this one.
Recently purchased this solar pool cover and so far, we're very pleased. We'd purchased some a few years ago from other companies but they were not long lived in the Arizona sun. It did work to keep the pool water warm but the small blue bubbles came off the backing and ended up making a huge mess. We purchased this one from Solar Pool Supply because it was thicker (20 mm) material, appears to be better made and the design is both different and unique. Am happy with our purchase.
i was very skeptical about spending so much on a cover for our little bestway pool from costco, but the cover we had on it last summer was so flimsy and annoying and was not a heating cover so i was desperate for anything better.
i was honestly surprised at how much this heats our pool! granted our pool is only 3 feet deep so a deeper pool might not heat up as much from just the cover, but it definitely makes a huge difference for us! and i like how thick it is and that it floats on the water. i just wish they made a reel for the 12 foot round cover, as it is very cumbersome to take off and put back on due to the thickness. it's fairly impossible to actually "fold" very nicely when taking it off the pool. but we are ok dealing with that bc of the benefits!
Stiff and sturdy.. floats on top of the water. Rolls up nicely on reel unlike all the other ones I have had. It’s because it’s rigid. This keeps more debris out than all the other ones I have tried also.
It has worked great in my granddaughter's inflatable pool to keep the water at a more comfortable temperature to play in. For the price I paid, am hoping it will last for years.
Does a good job of upping and keeping the temperature of my above ground pool. I was gone for 10 days and it was very hot. NO ALGAE when got home! Very pleased. Just hope I can keep the mice away come winter.
This is the best pool cover, I wasn’t going to purchase because a little more than others.
We have a pool heater and it has cut down on the amount it runs, saving us $$.
The cover has also has saved us cleaning time.
Once again way different from the rest.
So far so good. I was worried that the new cover would not work with our exsisting reel, but gratefully, it works just fine. Early in the season, but I appreciate the quality.
My pool doesn’t get a lot of sun, so the water is always cold! I bought the Geo Bubble solar cover because it says it warms the water and it definitely does! My water is usually around 72° and it is currently 82°, thanks to the Geo Bubble cover! I highly recommend this cover to keep your pool water warm!!

Initial review June 1, 2026...Purchased in April. Took it out of the box over the last weekend in May. Perfectly cut. Very heavy weight and material seems to be quality. The cover looks good. Much heavier than a standard pool cover. Our first use, we covered the pool at 83 degrees pool temp; air temps dropped to about 55 over night; pool temp dropped to 79 by this morning. This afternoon we had 5 hrs of sunshine on the covered pool and 75 degrees air temp. The pool temp now at 6:30pm and 68 degrees air temp, after 5 hrs of direct sun, still covered, is 80 degrees. One of the main reasons I bought the cover was the selling point that it would increase pool temps by 12 degrees, so I don't have to rely on my heater that much. That clearly doesn't seem to be the case. I will continue to monitor and update my review if able.
Update #2...June 9...it's holding pool temps within about 2-3 degrees when night temps drop into the 60s. Not really heating up the pool. Still looks good. Very heavy...if you are putting this on a reel, you must use the straps, otherwise there is no hope for one person being able to roll it up . Position your straps 2 inches from the end so you get the tightest roll. That allows it to fit on the Rocky Reel. It's keeping the pool clean and water chemistry is holding. I like it, I don't love it.
