You've got questions. We've got answers.
Will a GeoBubble cover work with the reel I already have?+
It depends on what your reel was built to carry. GeoBubble covers are thicker and heavier than typical bubble covers, and reels made for lightweight covers can strain under the extra load. Check your reel's rated cover weight — or tell us what you have and we'll help you confirm the fit.
Why does Rocky's Reel cost more than other reels?+
Construction. Most reels are built to a price, with light components that struggle under a heavier cover. Rocky's Reel is die-cast aluminum, engineered for the weight of a thick GeoBubble cover, and sized to your pool — a reel you buy once instead of replacing.
Do I need a reel for a smaller pool?+
The need grows with pool size: the bigger the pool, the heavier the cover, and the harder it is to take on and off by hand. On smaller pools a leading edge alone may be enough; on larger pools the reel is what keeps the cover getting used.
Can one person really cover the pool alone?+
Yes — that's the leading edge's whole job. The buoyant edge and pull cord move the cover across the water from one end, without walking the perimeter or fighting the material. Covering takes under a minute.
How thick should a solar pool cover be?+
Thickness is what separates a cover that lasts from one that quits after a season or two. GeoBubble™ covers are premium 20-mil (500-micron) material built for an 8+ year product life* — and Gen2 material goes further, with the strength of a 20-mil and the ease of a 16-mil.
How much difference will it actually make?+
A GeoBubble™ cover warms your pool by up to 14°F* with Sol+Guard™, keeps 98%* of evaporation in the pool, and cuts chemical use by up to 50%* — that's how a properly sized system extends your swim season. And if you're unsure on sizing, our team will design your system free.
How do I measure my pool?+
Measure at the waterline: the longest length and the widest width, in feet. Round up to the next foot.
My pool is freeform — how does the cover fit?+
Freeform covers ship at your full cut size — you trim the cover to your pool's shape at home. Measure the longest and widest points and round up to the next foot.

*Performance figures per GeoBubble™ controlled comparative testing versus conventional bubble covers, and are pending final claims review. Sol+Guard™ and Gen2 Sol+Guard™ heat gain up to 14°F (8°C); results vary with climate, pool exposure, and hours covered. Gen2 puncture resistance compared with conventional 20-mil bubble material. Evaporation reduction measured while the pool is covered. Final price is determined by cover size. Free shipping applies within the contiguous United States; Alaska and Hawaii excluded.
