The Floating Leading Edge
A buoyant leading edge that makes solar cover handling a one-person job. The PVC-coated edge floats your cover across the water with a single pull cord — no dragging, no walking the perimeter — and trims to fit your pool.
Advanced light-filtering technology harnesses the sun's energy to warm your pool while helping inhibit algae growth.

EnergyGuard's midnight-blue material is a selective filter: warming infrared passes straight through, while the light algae need to grow is absorbed and converted to heat. Up to 12°F warmer water, a cleaner pool with fewer chemicals — and warmth that holds through the night, not just while the sun is up. In Plastipack's comparative testing, its heating performance came within reach of clear high-transmission covers built purely for heat — with none of their algae problem.
If your last solar cover turned brittle or began falling apart after a season or two, traditional round bubbles may be part of the reason. Their shape concentrates stress at vulnerable points, while the patented GeoBubble™ design distributes stress more evenly across the material.
In 2022 heated-pool testing from August 5–21, one pool was covered with EnergyGuard™ and an identical pool was left uncovered. The covered pool used 16.6 kWh of heat-pump energy compared with the uncovered pool's 193 kWh — 91% less — while running 5.6°F warmer on average, day and night, with 39% fewer chlorine additions. Heating the uncovered pool cost more than 11× as much.
Every uncovered pool pays for evaporation — on your water bill, your heating bill, and in the chemicals that leave with it. EnergyGuard™ cuts those costs for every pool. Covering an average pool saves roughly 8,500 gallons a year — more in hot, dry climates — right when summer irrigation already has your water bill at its peak. Run a heater, and it pays you back several times faster.
Traditional bubble covers can become brittle, tear and eventually shed plastic into the pool as they break down. EnergyGuard™ is engineered differently, with a patented GeoBubble™ shape that's thicker at its most vulnerable point to better resist the stress, UV exposure and pool chemicals that cause premature failure. And with material rated to -13°F, it's built to stay on the pool through the off-season, extending that protection beyond summer.
