Existing SwimJoy system: match the size of the panel you’re replacing and install it with the appropriate hardware. The 4-foot-wide models on this page use the same clamp connection and mounting rail. Heliocol and SunStar panels use a similar clamp-style connection. SwimJoy is a direct replacement for SunStar, but Heliocol panels are a different length and width, so SwimJoy isn’t a direct replacement for Heliocol. Send us a photo of the connection and your panel size and we’ll help you find the right option.

Fit & sizes

Will it fit your existing system? Here’s how to tell.

Look at how your panels join each other. The connection tells you which replacement panel you need; the measurements below tell you which size.

Which length do you have?

Length outside edge to outside edge Width · end of header to end of header (every size is roughly 48½″)

The size you order is in the first column of the table; the length you’ll see on a tape is in the second. Measure the panel you’re replacing:

  1. Length: from the outside edge of the top header to the outside edge of the bottom header.
  2. Width: across one header from one end to the other, including the end fittings — not just the tubes.

Match your length to the measured length column. The 4-foot-wide models on this page are all about 48½″ wide, with a 2″ manifold; a 1-foot-wide model is sold separately. If your measurement doesn’t land on a row, send us a photo and the numbers and we’ll confirm the size.

Want more heat from the system you already have? Add a panel.

An added panel installs like a replacement and joins the row you already have. The Panel Installation Kit supplies its mounting pads and clamps — the panel on its own doesn’t include them. Size the whole system rather than the addition: the sizing guide works from your pool’s surface area, how much of the year you want to swim, and the panel size you have now. Starting a new row also takes row plumbing; ask us what your layout needs.

Inside SwimJoy

Engineered differently. Built to last.

SwimJoy solar pool heating panels are engineered for long-term rooftop durability, with one-piece construction, strap-free mounting, and fewer connections that can wear, leak, or require maintenance over time.

SwimJoy header, mounting sled, and riser tubes up close
One piece, no seams

Header and riser tubes are over-molded into a single piece, eliminating seams and welds that can become potential failure points.

High-wind mounting security

Mounting rails are molded directly into the manifold, while specialized pads secure the collectors to the roof without traditional tie-down straps.

Separated tubes that drain

Separated riser tubes allow water to drain from the collectors, helping protect against freeze damage and pinhole leaks during cold weather. Where freezing occurs, the collectors must be drained when the pump shuts off, as the installation manual requires.

Clamps, not hoses

Patented panel clamps replace traditional rubber hoses and metal hose clamps, creating a cleaner connection with fewer components to maintain.

Certifications

SRCC OG-100Independent performance rating for the solar collector itself.
SRCC OG-400Independent rating for the solar pool heating system as a whole.

Before you order

You've got questions. We've got answers.

Will a SwimJoy replacement panel fit my existing system?

If your system is SwimJoy, match the size of the panel you’re replacing and install it with the appropriate hardware; the 4-foot-wide models on this page use the same clamp connection and mounting rail. Systems that join panels with rubber hoses and hose clamps use a different connection; see the SwimEasy panel and its fit requirements.

I have FAFCO, Heliocol or SunStar panels — which replacement do I need?

Heliocol and SunStar panels use a similar clamp-style connection. SwimJoy is a direct replacement for SunStar, however the length and width of Heliocol is different, so SwimJoy isn’t a direct replacement for Heliocol. Unsure which panel you have? Send us a photo of the connection/header and your panel size, and we’ll help you find the right option. FAFCO panels, like most other brands, join with rubber hoses and hose clamps, so you’d need the SwimEasy replacement panel →

How do I know which panel length to order?

Order the size on your original order if you have it. Otherwise measure the panel from the outside edge of the top header to the outside edge of the bottom header and match it to the measured lengths in the Fit & sizes table above. If your measurement doesn’t land on a row, send us a photo and the numbers and we’ll confirm the size.

Do I need new mounting pads or clamps?

We recommend it. Every panel, replacement or addition, installs best with new mounting pads and clamp assemblies — reusing old hardware has been shown to damage new panels. The Panel Installation Kit above covers one panel. Roof fasteners and sealant aren’t supplied — pick those up at a hardware store for your roof type, or ask us what your roof needs.

Can I add panels to extend my swim season?

Yes. Size the whole system rather than the add-on — the sizing guide works from your pool’s surface area, how much of the year you want to swim, and the panel size you already have. Each added panel will require a Panel Installation Kit, which provides the installation hardware for the new panel. See Add a Panel above, or let our free system design map it for you.

What’s included?

One SwimJoy solar pool heater panel in the size you select. Mounting pads, clamp assemblies, and plumbing connectors are sold separately.

What about freeze-prone climates?

Separated-tube design; winterize before freezing. SwimJoy’s separated riser tubes let the collectors drain, which helps protect against freeze damage, and the freeze warranty applies only when the panels are installed according to the manual and drained when the pump shuts off where freezing occurs.

When does a full kit make more sense than single panels?

It depends on how many panels you’re replacing and how much of the hardware needs replacing with them. The SwimJoy DIY kit bundles panels with mounting pads, clamps, and row connections; single panels make sense when the other panels, mounting, and plumbing in your system are in good shape. Ask us and we’ll compare the two for your system, or request a free system design.

What does the warranty cover?

SwimJoy panels are covered by Solar Pool Supply’s 12-Year Limited Warranty. For twelve years from purchase, a panel with a manufacturing defect is repaired or replaced at no charge for the part. Freeze damage is covered when the panels are installed according to the manual and drained when the pump shuts off where freezing occurs. After twelve years, a Lifetime Limited provision replaces a defective panel for 50% of the then-published MSRP. Labor, removal, and shipping aren’t covered, and the warranty applies to the original purchaser and installation. Read the full terms →
