A ball spring(5#) type check valve is typically installed at the highest point in a solar pool heating system. By allowing air to enter the pool solar panels, it aids in gravity drainage of solar pool collectors and piping.

The vacuum relief valve on my solar system was leaking water. I ordered this valve after confirming with the helpful people at Solar Pool Supply. This valve was exactly what I needed. Installation was easy.
Old relief valve started leaking unfortunately, so needed to swap it out with this one. Works great and is easy to install. No special tools or materials required, just a screwdriver for the clamps.
Replacing this valve stopped the gurgling noise from the panel and increased the GPM coming out of the pump. It also completely eliminated air bubbles coming out of pool nozzles. I should have replaced it sooner.

I had been using solar heat for quite some time and honestly had it all put together wrong. Got the proper way to do it off the Solar Pool supply website, bought a few things I needed from them. Redid the whole thing and it really does work much better. I even called them and got a guy on the phone who got me right on track. Good guys
