NanoEdge Solar Pool Heater Panel

Expand an existing NanoEdge system or build a custom array around your available roof space — one panel at a time. Choose the length that fits.

Includes one panel. Mounting brackets and ring clamps are added below.

Check your pump pressure before ordering. NanoEdge is designed for systems running under 14 psi. That covers most above-ground pools and many inground pools with a standard pump. Not sure what yours runs? Ask us →

Will it connect to your system?

NanoEdge systems only. Every NanoEdge panel has the same barbed fittings at both ends, and a ring clamp joins it to the next panel. Every panel is 1.72 feet wide and every length connects the same way, so an added panel joins any NanoEdge row — order the length that matches the panels already in it.

Rubber hoses and hose clamps, a clamp joint, or a twist-together union? A NanoEdge panel won’t join that system. See the SwimEasy panel → for hose-and-clamp systems, the SwimJoy panel → for clamp joints, the SunLink Pro panel → for twist-together unions — or, if your pump runs under 14 psi, replace the whole system with a NanoEdge DIY kit →

Three lengths. One 1.72-foot width. Sized for the roof space you have.

Every panel connects the same way at both ends, so any length joins a NanoEdge row. Measure the run you have, choose the length that fits, and let the flexible strips follow the roof.

Want more heat from the system you already have? Add a panel.

An added panel joins the row you already have with the ring clamps in its Panel Installation Kit, which also provides the two mounting brackets for the new panel. Size the whole system rather than the addition: the sizing guide works from your pool’s surface area, how much of the year you want to swim, and the panels you have now. Starting a new row also takes a Row Installation Kit, and a roof vent or skylight in the run takes a Row Spacer Kit — both are in the order box above.

Inside NanoEdge

More heat from the same sunlight.

Three layers, each with one job. NanoEdge’s multilayer co-extruded construction captures more energy, transfers it faster, and carries more heated water — up to 40% greater heating performance from the same available sunlight and collector area.*

MaxBlack outer shell

The ultra-matte outer surface absorbs 20% more incident solar radiation than a standard collector surface,* while helping protect the collector against UV exposure, ozone, and mechanical wear.

Nano-graphitic transfer layer

A nano-graphitic composite layer conducts captured solar energy into the circulating water up to 30% faster than a standard collector material,* with the chemical resistance and flexibility required for long-term exterior performance.

High-flow water channels

Ten 8 mm water channels within each strip provide 18% more internal water volume than standard tube designs,* with reduced restriction and lower system back pressure.

Engineered down to the connection

Precision-formed barbs create secure, consistent seals, while the flexible multilayer construction accommodates the thermal movement of a rooftop system.

Before you order

You've got questions. We've got answers.

Will a NanoEdge panel connect to my existing solar pool heater?

Only if your existing panels are NanoEdge. Every NanoEdge panel has the same barbed fittings at both ends, and a ring clamp joins it to the next NanoEdge panel; it won’t join a system that uses rubber hoses and hose clamps, a clamp joint with no hoses, or a twist-together union. For those systems, see the SwimEasy panel (hose-and-clamp), the SwimJoy panel (clamp joint), or the SunLink Pro panel (twist-together). A whole system can be replaced with NanoEdge using a NanoEdge DIY kit — if your pump runs under 14 psi.

Will NanoEdge work with my pump?

NanoEdge is designed for systems running under 14 psi. That covers most above-ground pools and many inground pools with a standard pump. If your system runs higher than that, the connections can leak; choose SwimEasy, SwimJoy, or SunLink Pro instead, or send us your pump model and we’ll tell you what your system runs. Ask us →

Does NanoEdge work with an above-ground pool?

Yes. NanoEdge is designed for systems running under 14 psi, which covers most above-ground pools. Mount the panels on a roof or a rack near the pool, and size the system the same way as any pool — from its surface area and how much of the year you want to swim. Send us your pool size and pump model and we’ll design it for you, free. Free System Design →

Can I add panels to a NanoEdge system to extend my swim season?

Yes. An added panel joins the row with the ring clamps in its Panel Installation Kit, which also provides the mounting brackets for the new panel. Starting a new row takes a Row Installation Kit as well, and a roof vent or skylight in the run takes a Row Spacer Kit. Size the whole system rather than the add-on: the sizing guide works from your pool’s surface area, how much of the year you want to swim, and the panels you already have. See Add a Panel above, or let our free system design map it for you.

How do I know which panel length to order?

Adding to a row? Order the same length as the panels already in it. Starting a new row, measure the clear run you have and choose the length that fits; the sizing guide works out how many panels your pool needs, or send us your pool size and roof dimensions for a free system design. Replacing a damaged NanoEdge panel? Measure it from one end fitting to the other and send us the number — we’ll match it to the right size.

Do I need a Panel Installation Kit?

Each panel needs its own mounting and connection hardware, and the Panel Installation Kit has it: (2) heavy-duty mounting brackets and (2) ring clamps, for mounting the panel to the surface and connecting water from panel to panel. One kit per panel. We also recommend Prosil 60 silicone glue, one tube for every two panels (more for high-wind installs). Roof fasteners and sealant aren’t supplied — pick those up at a hardware store for your roof type, or ask us what your roof needs.

What do the Row Installation Kit and the Row Spacer Kit do?

The Row Installation Kit connects a row of panels to the supply and return PVC lines: (2) ring clamps, (2) end caps, (2) CPVC pipe connectors, (2) pipe connector inserts and (2) PVC reducer couplings, 1.5″ SGT × 2″. One kit per row, so a new system needs at least one, and you only need more for additional rows. The Row Spacer Kit bridges a roof vent, skylight, exhaust fan, or other obstruction larger than 3 inches, with pipe connectors that let PVC pipe run between the panels around it — one kit per obstruction. Both are in the order box above.

What does a new NanoEdge installation need?

Besides the panels, a new NanoEdge system needs:

  • NanoEdge System Kit, one per system: parts for gravity drainage of the panels and piping — (1) high-performance vacuum relief valve, (1) pressure gauge, (1) drain-down / equalizer kit, (1) PVC tee 1.5″ × 2″ × 2″ and (2) PVC reducer bushings 2″ × 1-1/2″.
  • Row Installation Kit, one per row of panels.
  • Panel Installation Kit, one per panel.
  • Prosil 60 silicone glue, one tube per two panels for standard wind conditions; buy extra for high-wind areas.

Adding panels to a system you already have? You usually need only the Panel Installation Kit for each new panel, plus a Row Installation Kit if you start a new row.

What’s included?

One NanoEdge solar pool heater panel in the length you select. Mounting brackets, ring clamps, glue, and row plumbing parts are sold separately — add them in the order box above.

What about freezing weather?

In climates where freezing temperatures occur, the system must be protected: either complete gravity drainage whenever the pump stops, or an automated control system with active freeze protection enabled whenever temperatures may fall below 40°F (4.4°C). Automation systems with freeze protection are available — call and speak with one of our installation specialists.

When does a full kit make more sense than single panels?

It depends on how much of the system is new. The NanoEdge DIY kit bundles panels with their installation kits and the row plumbing, sized for your pool; single panels make sense when you’re adding to a NanoEdge system whose mounting and plumbing are already in place. Ask us and we’ll compare the two for your system, or request a free system design.

What does the warranty cover?

NanoEdge collectors carry a 12-year limited warranty. Ask us for the full terms before you order and we’ll send them to you. Ask us →
