At Last, A True Hybrid Is Born!

Triple Threat has been developed specifically to solve inherent quality issues that plague existing above ground & hybrid solar pool heating systems.

Here at Solar Pool Supply, we are constantly seeking new and inventive ways of pioneering previously untouched challenges in the solar pool heating industry. We began with a renovation of the DIY market by custom packaging the industries leading brands into complete "do it yourself" kits for inground swimming pools. Systems of this caliber had previously only been available to select areas of the country by a professional installer. We have come a long way and have succeeded in making it possible for a homeowner anywhere in the world to have access to these very same systems, all without the need of a contract!

And Now… We are ecstatic to introduce the next leap in solar pool heating product development and our newest challenge, the
SwimEasy Triple Threat! A variation of our SwimEasy product line, designed specifically as a true hybrid solution to above ground & inground swimming pools, as well as spas and Jacuzzis. We have been hard at work for a substantial period of time developing & perfecting this product. Our goal has been to overcome the challenges of existing above ground solar systems and provide a real solution at a price point previously believe unobtainable.

This has been one of the largest challenges we have undertaken, and quite possibly our greatest achievement yet. We feel we have done what we do best and created a monster to truly be reckoned with.

Time For A Real Solution!

A Look Into Existing Problems
& Triple Threat's Solution.

Problem # 1 - Threaded Fittings

Plastic threaded fittings do not provide a secure connection and tend to leak quite frequently. They also run the risk of getting cross threaded as many cheaper plastic threads do not always line up well. The problem is made even worse if this fitting type is ever used on a swimming pool with a larger pump. Larger above ground pools, as well as just about any inground pool will utilize a pump that operates at a higher pressure. We have had customers call in that attempted to connect a threaded fitting system to their inground pool and blew the connections. Threaded fittings are not designed for the operating pressure of these pumps. These swimming pools utilize pumps that operate at higher pressures that threaded fittings simply cannot hold.

Solution - Specially Designed Pipe Adapters

Connects Flex Hose Directly to Rubber Couplings for a Perfect Seal!

Connects Flex Hose Directly to PVC pipe, fittings & valves for a Perfect Seal!

Triple Threat contains no threaded fittings. We manufactured special adapters that connect PVC type fittings to flex hose with the use of gaskets & hose clamps for a completely secure, leak-free seal. These are the connection types that are used with high pressure above ground pool systems, however unfortunately not available for flex hose connections. We decided to solve the problem and have developed our own adapter to make this connection type and seal a reality for flex hose type systems & pools. Each Triple Threat system comes with a full set of these specialized adapters to connect either 1.25” or 1.5” flex hose, or PVC directly to the solar collectors. It also comes with adapters to connect these same types to a premium Pentair diverter valves (more on this below).

PROBLEM # 2

Cheap Non-Positive Seal Diverter Valve’s

Poorly constructed non-positive seal valve’s are typically used in these systems are they are an inexpensive way of diverting water to and from a solar system. Where as it is true that a non positive valve is generally suggested for use with solar pool heaters due to their ability to allow drainage when the system is off, a far better option exists. The problem with a non positive valve is that it does not completely seal the flow of water. Essentially non positive seal valves allow some water to pass through the blocked connection. This can be helpful for solar because when solar is turned off, the water in solar will not have a full seal and be able to drain back, essentially using the poor seal to work in the wat solar needs. The problem with this is when solar is ON, not all the water is going to be diverted to solar, especially if you are roof mounting and water has to move up, thus putting pressure on the poor seal (water will get past the closed part of the valve and only part of the water stream will make it through your solar system, thus reducing the overall flow rate essentially for optimal performance). Solar systems are all about flow, if only a percentage of the water is getting to your system because some is leaking past the valve, you are only achieve partial results. You could have the best solar collectors in the world, if your components are not able to deliver adequate flow, it really doesn’t matter, your performance will always be hindered by the weakest part of the system.

SOLUTION

Pentair Optimum Positive Seal Diverter Valve's

Triple Threat includes two premium Pentair Optimum Positive Seal Diverter Valve's. Positive seal valve's assure maximum flow is maintained and ALL the water gets to your solar panel system for a maximum heating performance, not just some of it. It's pointless to provide a premium system if it's not accompanied with premium connectors & valves to assure maximize performance and efficiency.

The efficiency of any solar pool heating system is all about flow! Pentair Optimum Positive Seal Valves have excellent flow characteristics. They are also manufactured to strict quality standards & never require lubrication! They provide a lifetime of superior performance, high flow rate & withstand pressure up to 150 psi.

PROBLEM # 3

Poorly Manufactured Solar Collectors That Last Only a Couple Years

Unmodified polypropylene has a high rate of degradation from UV exposure. Sunlight breaks down the plastic and weakens it, a serious problem for a solar collector as its very nature is to collect as much sunlight as possible.

SOLUTION

State of the Art Manufacturing Techniques - Collectors Able To Withstand The Suns Harsh Conditions for 15-20 Years!

Triple Threat solar panels undergo a state-of-the-art manufacturing process designed to significantly increase the materials resistance to UV light. This process eliminates the inherent quality issues that plague cheaply manufactured products which typically see a lifespan of only 1-2 years. Triple Threat solar panels are an investment aiming to save you money, time, and the headache of replacing damaged panels year after year.

Each absorber plate of a Triple Threat solar collector is made from a propylene copolymer with synergistic antioxidants and UV screen including carbon black. When these special additives are coupled with a process of melt-blending the plastic, the thermal characteristics are altered, substantially increasing the material’s resistance to UV light. This process is vital in creating a solar panel capable of withstanding the sun's harsh conditions for years to come.

PROBLEM # 4

To Many Various "Add-on Kits" To Get The Right Parts You Need

It seems that in an attempt to get prices as low as possible, some of these above ground kits have been broken down into the most basic packages. You need a certain plumbing kit for how your going to attach the system, a certain mounting kit for how you are going to mount the system. It can be confusing to understand exactly what your getting and what you need to add to be able to install the system the way you want to.

SOLUTION

True All-In-One System - Comes With Everything You Need. NO ADD-ON KITS!

We have designed SwimEasy TT to include everything necessary to connect anyway you’d like and mount however you’d like, all without the need of confusing add-on packages or separate hardware kits. Includes the components needed to connect with flex hose or PVC. Install it with or without a diverter valve. Mount it on your roof, a ground rack, roll them out on the grass, however you’d like. SwimEasy TT includes everything you need to install anyway you’d like.

PROBLEM # 5

No Published Data on Specs or Performance

We have yet to encounter any above ground solar pool heater or inground/above ground hybrid with any published data on how the system actually performs. We see a plethora of product descriptions (sometimes quite misleading) proclaiming all sorts of various temperature increases. We have yet to uncover any actual data on any of these systems proving these results.

Some homeowners like the challenge of making the absolute best of what they have & aim to optimize for maximum heating performance & longevity. To achieve this goal requires information on flow rates and how much water should be moving through the system. Without any data, this is impossible.

Want to plan ahead and construct a rack for your panels? Doing so requires data on the measurements of the panels. Without this data, planning your project can be very difficult.

SOLUTION

SwimEasy Triple Threat Comes w/ a Complete Spec Sheet & Product Data

Complete specification and data sheet with details on; flow rates, performance ratings, measurements, weights, volume capacities, row maximums & more. SwimEasy Triple Threat solar collectors were not just thrown into a molding machine with some text written on what they can do; these are the same collectors used by professional installation companies across the United States for more then 50 years.

Why? One very simple reason: They work, extremely well!

State of the Art Manufacturing Techniques - Collectors Able To Withstand The Suns Harsh Conditions for 15-20 Years!

SwimEasy collectors are constructed in a “tube-and-web” design which separates each individual round tube by a thin strip or “web”. This design allows for normal expansion and contraction that occurs due to thermal heating and cooling, extending life expectancy. Each panel is comprised of 8 individual plates that are thermally-welded and insert-molded. A direct, metered manifold delivers a balanced flow through the collector and prevents hot-spots.
We have been attempting to create a solar heating solution for small/medium sized above ground & inground swimming pools, as well as spas. We have tried a multitude of different panel types, sizes, configurations, manufacturers, parts, ext. to answer many of the struggles that plagued the current market of these systems. We read the reviews, spoke with countless customers, used our experience and connections within the industry to bring about a solution we believe to change the market forever. From threading fittings that leak, to poorly constructed solar collectors which degrade after only a year or two in the sun, to cheap 3-port valves, fittings & rubber hoses. We get it, this has been one of the most difficult ventures we have undertaken, and the challenges of bringing premium, professionally used products into this price point has been a trial of tribulation that nearly lead to our surrender (and to be honest, we actually had decided to put the project on hold due to an inability to make a premium system work at the right price point, we wanted to provide premium products at a price previous unseen / we wanted to take items previously only available to the top 30% and make them an option for those on a budget).. The solution fell into our laps as if a gift from above, and when we connected the dots and realized what we had stumbled on, we were ecstatic.. and jumped into hyperdrive to make this a reality for 2021. An enormous amount of gratitude goes out to all involved with the final manufacturing & development of this project, as it seems when true passion meets with pure inspiration, mountains really can be moved.

Which Size System Do I Need?

The most relevant aspect of sizing a system is based on the square footage of your pool. We typically recommend anywhere from 50%-100% solar panel to pool square foot coverage based on a number of different variables including, weather, shade, install direction, wind, climate region, performance expectations, etc. For example, if your pool is 500 square feet, then 50% coverage would be 250 square feet of panels, 75% coverage would be 375 square feet of panels, etc. From there it is selecting a panel size that fits your installation area.

To find out precisely what size system (how many panels) will adequately heat your pool and provide the results your looks for, see our page on "How to Size Your System". All the factors are discussed and we will help you identify the best system for your pool, climate zone & heating goals.
